well, the difference b/w kash and west asia is the intensity with which the respective armies strike and the results are there to see. kash is lot better than west-asia. yup lots of lives lost, and thats quite tragic indeed, and dunno how many more will be lost. anyway, one thing u said is quite true we are too busy minting money.......... we're not going to DO anything, enter politics or s'thing like that. atleast not at present, maybe later :p maybe!! and whenever i do get into the shit and be a piggy politician, i'll kick start this forum again :p.........cheers until then!!

Yup, army background, went to an army school. Love it. War is useless. Yet, how do you propose to counter guerillas who threaten the sovereignity of the country? We are too busy minting money - the police is busy partaking its undue share - that leaves the army to defend us. Got any idea how many schoolmates/ppl I know died in kashmir? West Asia is a socio-economic issue that has been militarized, for the benefit of US defense companies, which in turn makes it an economic issue again. Cheers

px, do u, by any chance, belong to an army background?? If thats the case, no hard feelings, sire!! but dont u think that the concept of wars is slightly outdated?? if there's a lesson to be learnt frm guerilla warfare its that whenever u try to oppress ppl there'll be some phony leaders who'll misguide them!! wat do ppl in kash want?? the army shd pull out, thats all!! quite logical, wats army gotto do in their background..........let there be a plebiscite, let the kashmiris, pok included, vote for ind/pak/azad_kash!! ......... y all this violence in mid-east and iraq, wat do they want?? same thing that US shd pull out of afghanistan, iraq, kuwait and UK frm oman!! or maybe if a complete removal of troops aint possible, why not go step by step. Involve some other arab nations' armies or police, like UAE that can at least identify with iraqis, and as a next step pull them out as well, leaving iraqis to govern themselves ...... we cry a lot abt diego garcia shit, how can we support US in mid-east?? ...... the west-asia is so convoluted, that its beyond my scope to comment on it!! but a strategy cud be formed 4 that as well.........i reiterate, no offence meant!!

Well, India should have compulsory military training for all, like Israel. Most people wouldnt make it to officer grade, I can bet.

Bluestar was a fiasco. Army ppl do misbehave, but hey, when its war time, everyone goes, "OH< THE ARMY IS SO WONDERFUL", otherwise, civilians dont really respect the defense personnel.

kj, yeah maybe i'd have taken that oraclespeak frm you and shakespeare!! but being an open source proponent i never felt like any shame in putting them together :p anyway, its better than EULAs under which i'd have still copied but i'd hv deleted that comment of urs as well ;-) .........and why, do you think, that the sky should fall on our heads. well, the world is progressing. wat happened in vietnam, or in iraq under saddam was even more atrocious. tell you, US cant stick its ass in iraq 4 long as it did in vietnam. media will flay them 4 that. we're progressing, tho we got a long way to go!!

If I can make a correction those pics are supposed to be of British soldiers. The American one's are a little different although the result is the same. Doing what they went in to stop and in the same place as where Saddam's cronies used to torture Iraqi's. How ironic!
